Vendors Wanted!!

Strawberry Point Farmers' Market -- Summer of 2012

This year, the Farmers' Market is a city project.  For this year, there will be no fees for venders.
There will be no reserved locations.  If you have questions or concerns about the market, please
stop in at city hall, phone 933-4482, or email cityclerk@strawberrypt.com.

The first Farmers' Market will be held on May 30 from 4:00 to 6:00pm in Inger Park.  Markets
will be held at the same time each Wednesday.  Due to the holiday, there will not be a market on
Wednesday, July 4.  The final market will depend on the growing season.

We are asking venders to park your vehicle(s) at the East end of Inger Park (City Hall end) so
customers have close parking and easy access to the Farmers' Market.

Please fill out the form at the bottom of this page and give it to city hall so it is easier for us to
contact you, if need be.  You may also email the information to city hall at the above email
address.  Please get your information to City Hall by May 23.  We are looking forward to a great
Farmers' Market Season!

Dale Fox, Mayor & Deanna Dement, City Clerk

Regional Chamber Spring Conference 2012

The Strawberry Point Chamber of Commerce have the best members!

The chamber board members are attending an Annual Regional Chamber Conference tonight in West Union. The board had asked for donations to create a basket to take for a door-prize that someone from another town would win.

As you can see, we ended up with two baskets, because we had an overwhelming response with donations from our wonderful Chamber members. We have things such as: wine, golf balls, cooler, coffee mugs, hats, screw-driver, solar light, pizza cutter, gift certificates, Strawberry point cookbook, t-shirt, newspaper, brochures, business cards, gourmet coffee, strawberry ornament, strawberry candy, a novel, yard-stick, golf tees and pens.

Earth Day

Earth Day is coming!

I am collecting InkJet Printer cartridges, and LaserJet Ink cartridges, for a fundraiser. I am also collecting old cellular phones.

Did you know:

Cellular Phone Facts:

Cell phones are consistently being up-graded or damaged; which means there are roughly over a 100 million cell-phones that are obsolete each year. The average life span of a cell-phone is just 18 months. The Average cell-phone user owns three or more cellular phones. There are 75% of non-used cell-phones that are stockpiled in drawers; including the battery and charger. Believe it or not, there is a proper way to dispose of a cellular phone. Cellular phone’s coating is made of lead, and the lithium-ion batteries can explode if exposed to high temperatures, or direct sunlight. A working phone could be donated to people with disabilities or shelters for battered women, because any cellular phone can dial 911 regardless of its service.
The printer cartridges takes over 1,000 years per cartridge to disappear from our Earth. Why not donate them for a fundraiser instead?

Bring your ink cartridges or old cellular phones to the Development Fund's office for recycle at 105 W. Mission Street.
