Strawberry Point Pull-Out Facility
Strawberry Point Development Fund, Inc. presents the
newest addition to the Strawberry Point Industrial Park, ITC Midwest LLC. A
Strawberry Point Pull-out facility investing in energy reliability and the
community.
ITC Midwest LLC is building a storage and “pull out”
facility in Strawberry Point to support its work to improve the reliability of
the region’s electric transmission system.
ITC will use the facility, located on Highway 3/13
south of Strawberry Point, to store equipment and serve as a show-up site for
crews working on electric transmission construction and maintenance project in
the area.
The facility will serve as a satellite field
location, allowing the company to more quickly dispatch crews and equipment to
make repairs or perform maintenance. The company’s nearest full-service
warehouse is located in Dubuque, approximately 50 miles to the east. ITC chose
the Strawberry Point site based on its central location in the midst of several
projects currently underway in the region and planned for the future.
The facility will feature a 7,500-sq. foot heated
warehouse/storage building with large overhead door and fenced yard to store
equipment. The facility will be completed and begin service by the end of 2012.
ITC, which owns and operates electric transmission
lines in the region, already has a large presence in the area. The company owns
more than 6,600 miles of lines in Iowa and Minnesota, including approximately
100 miles of line in Clayton County. ITC paid nearly $60,000 in property taxes
to the county in 2011. Keep checking back for updates! |
